About Me

I'm Abagail!

I have quite a few titles.
I'm an educator, and I'm a natural health professional. I'm also a daughter, sister, friend, caregiver, wife, and mother.
I'm very proud of all of my titles, but some are a little extra special to me simply because of the journey it took to get there.

It started with a diagnosis.

In 2014, I was fresh out of highschool and things took a tumble health wise. The dreaded weight gain came, and it was uncontrollable. I dealt with depression, anxiety, irritability, intense cravings and hunger, and among other things, I was always tired.

After a lot of convincing, I finally got my doctor to do some testing, and I received a diagnoses of PCOS.

PCOS is basically a hormone imbalance that tends to stem from an overproduction of male hormones (androgens), blood sugar instability (insulin resistance), and toxic inflammation that also tend to all throw off ovulation.

I didn't worry too much about it at the time, but it became an even bigger deal when I got engaged to my now husband, Logan. We wanted a family right away, and I wasn't ovulating--which, by the way, I didn't figure out via my doctor. I figured it out for myself.

I actually never did get much help from a doctor, albeit he was a great one. PCOS is just so misunderstood, and there is a lack of education around it.

I decided I was worth more than what I got.

Through a TON of research, some help from a couple naturopaths and holistic care providers, and my own determination, I did end up overcoming my inability to ovulate and got pregnant with the help of fertility medications in 2019.

I also had a miscarriage, and never got to meet that sweet baby.

But because I was so consistent in the new lifestyle I created for myself to overcome this very thing, when I went back into my doctor's office to start another round of fertility drugs, I actually found out I was pregnant.

I met my daughter later that same year, followed by my son a short seventeen months later.

I went on to beat my depressive state, ditch the toxic inflammation, love myself, and I am in the best shape of my life.

PCOS isn't who you are. It's not who you have to be. Through a mind/body approach, I overcame, just like so many others have as well.
